Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join the Warsaw-based team. This pivotal role will support the geographical and alternative data research analytics initiatives. Your contributions will directly impact our investment strategies by ensuring the availability of high-quality, timely data.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and Manage Data Pipelines: Design and oversee robust data pipelines that ensure high-quality datasets are provided to stakeholders.
- Innovative Product Development: Develop cutting-edge tools and solutions that enhance the capabilities of our Data Science & AI team.
- AI and Machine Learning Utilization: Leverage AI and machine learning technologies to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaboration with Investment Teams: Work closely with investment professionals to anticipate and address their data requirements.
- Quality Control Implementation: Establish quality control processes to maintain data integrity and accessibility.
- Incident Management: Monitor alert systems and promptly address any data incidents to ensure seamless operations.
- On-Call Support Participation: Take part in on-call rotations to provide support for our products and investment partners, in line with the "own what we build" philosophy.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Over 5 years of experience in software development.
- Strong command of Python (including pandas) and SQL/database management.
- Knowledge of web technologies (HTML/JS, APIs) and networking.
- Proficient in Linux, with Windows experience being a plus.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing infrastructure, data products, and tools tailored for data scientists.
- Skilled in containerizing applications using Docker (experience with Kubernetes is a plus).
- Familiar with build automation tools such as Jenkins and GitLab CI/CD.
- Understanding of cloud technologies, especially AWS.
